The Research Committee on the Sociology of Science and Technology

Established in 1966, RC23 aims to secure and develop personal and collegial contacts between sociologists of science throughout the world; to encourage the international dissemination and exchange of information, developments and activities in the field of sociology of science; to facilitate and promote international meetings and research; to actively help individuals and organizations in countries not represented to use the Committee and its facilities.

The Research Committee on the Sociology of Science and Technology is one of the research committees that comprise the International Sociological Association (ISA). It is listed as the 23rd research committee of the ISA,  hence, RC23.

Second ISA World Forum of Sociology: ‘Social Justice & Democratization’

Buenos Aires, Argentina ; August 1 – 4, 2012

RC23 – Sociology of Science and Technology – will be organising a full programme of sessions during the Second ISA World Forum of Sociology in Buenos Aires, Argentina,  1- 4 August 2012.  We are planning a high quality and intellectually stimulating programme that addresses a wide range of issues within Sociology of Science and Technology relevant to researchers from a diversity of countries.
